I spent many summers on the boardwalk in Coney Island located in Brooklyn, New York. You can see from the dislodged boards that Coney was falling into disrepair. The parachute jump in the distance is no longer working, but kept for historical purposes. Since I took this photo, Coney Island was regentrified and has gained new life.

At 12 yrs. old I was fascinated by this little box called a camera. If you pressed the button and brought the negatives to a drugstore, one week later photos would be returned in its' place. I didn't understand this magic. When I was old enough, I studied photography at Brooklyn College. I found that if I put my negatives in a thing called an enlarger a shadow would appear on photo paper. When I dropped that paper in some chemicals, a picture would emerge. Wow! I was hooked and so I studied at the International Center Of Photography. Now, I take a photo, plug my camera into my computer and the photo I just took pops up on my screen. Times have changed.
